Ceramics (2) Positions

 

About Ceramics (Grades 3-5 entering Grades 4-6)

Students will learn about the fundamentals of clay construction and hands-on art projects.  Students will be designing, writing creatively, utilizing poetry, weaving, clay, painting and designing.

 

  

CAMP PROGRAM DATES:

June 17, 2024 -July 11, 2024* (Monday-Thursday) *No session on Monday, July 1 thru Thursday, July 4 (12 total days)

 

Target Student Population:

Kinder Connect (Pre-K entering K)

First Grade Fundamentals (K entering Grade 1)

STEM Literacy (Grades 1-3 entering Grades 2-4)

Middle School Readers and Writers (Grades 3-7 entering Grades 4-8)

Math Mindsets (Grades 5-7 entering Grades 6-8)

 
Required Professional Development:

Teachers are recommended to attend the Professional Development session(s) provided by the MISD for (Kinder Connect, First Fundamentals, STEM Literacy, Middle School Readers and Writers, and Math Mindset) for up to 4 hours. 
Set-up Date and Time: Teachers will be compensated for 4 hours of camp preparation prior to the start day of camp.

Teacher Time

7:30am to 12:00pm Monday -Thursday only

 
 
Teacher Compensation

Teachers will be compensated for 4.5 hours a day plus 1 hour of prep per day (5.5 total hours per day) @$25/hour contractual rate and an additional $15/ hour for summer hero covid pay = total rate $40.00/hour.

Teachers will be paid up to 3 hours for required professional development.

All payments are processed after the end of the 4-week period 
 
 


Qualifications for Teachers

•                     Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate

•                     Early Childhood Endorsement Preferred for Kinder Connect/First Fundamentals (Not Required)

•                     Enthusiastic, energetic, and positive professionals
Responsibilities

Establish a consistent weekly check-in time with each of the families. During this time the teacher is available to answer questions, provide support, guidance and resources.
Provide activities (learning kits) that families can do with their children each week. Simple is best!
Plan and provide daily effective instructional activities/lessons for each of the 15 days.
Promote positive attendance
